I don’t want you to focus your efforts on me and who I am. I am just an average human living in a metropolitan suburb on a busy planet, trying to navigate life.
And I had something to say. So, I’ve said it – in the book, Freedom Farm.
None of the big publishing houses wanted to publish it and the big boys selling books for people online wanted to take most of the profits and then take their time paying me the little left over. So I self-published, and I encourage people to support self-published authors directly so they can earn a decent income for their hard work, not only writing their books in the first place, but putting in the very hard work marketing themselves. Buy direct and support a fellow human being on a more personal level.
What I really hope for is that you, the reader, will enjoy Freedom Farm and think about its message, then discuss it with your family and friends. Let’s talk about the elephant in the room.

I’ve been around for a while now. I have an ordinary, uninteresting life and am a quiet, introverted individual who is semi-reclusive. I’m good with words in the written form but my brain doesn’t connect with my mouth very well. In other words, I’m no good at debating. I have an opinion on everything, it’s just that most people don’t ask for it (or don’t listen to the answer). However, Freedom Farm has a lot for you to ponder, so please read it, enjoy it, think about it, and would you mind sending people to my website to buy their own copies. Thanks.
Why I wrote the book
I have been concerned about human overpopulation for nearly four decades. In my lifetime, world population has increased from 3 billion to 8.2 billion. Concern regarding the number of humans on the planet has been a point of discussion for over 200 years – since the early part of the industrial revolution – but is rarely part of modern-day conversation when we talk about environmental issues. Earth has finite resources which humans use. Only a few of our resources are naturally renewable, such as trees, crops and other food sources, and only to a certain degree. If humans use these resources more quickly than they can naturally renew themselves, then they begin to dwindle. Earth Overshoot Day is a calculation of when that point is reached each year. 1972 was the last year Earth Overshoot Day occurred on 31 December. In 2025, Earth Overshoot Day was reached on 24 July. Does that look like there is a co-relation between increasing human population and decreasing resources? When you think you live sustainably, think about Earth Overshoot Day.
After a lot of reading and research, and thinking about various problems facing humans and the planet, I believe human population is the bottom line. The idea for Freedom Farm came into my head in the late 2000s and in 2010 pen was finally put to paper. Fifteen years later it felt right to share the story of Freedom Farm with a troubled world. My hope is that people will then calmly talk about the issues and what the future looks like or could be.
We are living in a time of more, and more, and more. How well could the earth breathe if there were less?
